What Is The Gospel?

1. The Gospel exhibits the grace of God


But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. Eph 2:4-7

2. The Gospel reveals the glory of God

For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Cor 4:6

3. The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. Rom 1:16

4. The Gospel is the wrath of God towards sin

Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand. He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities. Isa 53:10-11

5. The Gospel is all about the Son, Jesus Christ

who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Phil 2:6-11

The Gospel goes against everything the world stands for and believes:It shows exclusivity to Jesus ALONE. All other beliefs are false and lead only to destruction/separation from God.
The person that listens to the true Gospel: Continues to go up stream against the current. Continues going up the down escalator. Continues to follow Jesus when everyone else walks away . "No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." is what Jesus said to His disciples.
The Gospel stands against every false teaching: There is only one way to heaven. There is only one Gospel. There is only one Savior and His name is Jesus Christ

For God so loved the world that He gave His only BEGOTTEN SON (THE SECOND PERSON OF THE TRINITY). WHO WAS FULLY GOD AND FULLY MAN (LIVED AMONG US). TO SAVE US FROM CONDEMNATION AND TO GIVE US THE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE WITH HIM. FOR BY HIS GRACE WE ARE SAVED THROUGH FAITH (BECAUSE OF WHAT HE DID THAT DAY ON THE TREE OF CALVARY). WE ARE ALL SINNER WHO ARE LOST AND WE NEED JESUS CHRIST, (NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND). As Paul said "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." Gal 2:20 (add your name in those highlighted areas to make it personal)
