Glorify the LORD in Everything
"The chief end of man is to glorify God BY enjoying him forever." John Piper.
What a wonderful statement John makes about the Christian life. The Lord Jesus Christ must receive the glory in everything from the best of times to the worst of times. As the apostle Paul said to the people at Philippi "according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you. (Phil 1:20-24)
Whether you live. Our whether you die. GLORIFY the Lord in your body. How do we do that? By what John says "enjoying Him forever" in all the pain, in all the suffering, in all the times of doubt and struggles, in all the rejoicing times, and most of all in His wonderful free gift of salvation. Sing and praise His name for His sovereign goodness in our lives, because remember He first loved us". (1John 4:19) "We love Him because He first loved us. " - Mike
