DO WE NEED TO GO BACK?

Gal 4:12-20 Why is the Christian life so hard?  Why couldn't He just make easy for us simple folks? For example: Why couldn't He just implant the word of God in my brain like a computer and I then I could know it off by heart? Why couldn't He give us the right words to say in every conversation whether it be confrontation or just simple fellowship or day to day conversations with people around us. Why couldn't He just make my life easier and simple, instead He complicates things by allowing struggles, temptation, decisions and learning about Him and His attributes. You know why He does all this? So that you savour and long for Him as the highly exalted Lord that He is. So that you be challenged and pushed in your faith to see Him as He should be “my sustainer, provider and protector. As David said “I will love You, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock and my f...

THE ADOPTING GRACE OF GOD PART 3

Gal 4:1-11 What does it mean to be an heirs according to promise? (3:29)  The simple answer is this! You are no longer a slave, but a son or daughter of God.  This means you have been purchased from the slave market with a promise that cannot be stolen or taken away from you if you are a genuine child of the Living God.  This statement that Paul makes is not referring to the promises given to Abraham regarding the Land in (Gen 12:1).  “Heir” “Under the patriarchs, the property of a father was divided among the sons of his legitimate wives (Gen 21:10; 24:36; 25:5), the eldest son getting a larger portion than the rest. The Mosaic law made specific regulations regarding the transmission of real property, which are given in detail in Deuteronomy 21:17 ; Numbers 27:8 ; 36:6 ; 27:9-11 . Succession to property was a matter of right and not of favour. What it’s referring to for you and me is this! The spiritual blessing that come to all who being justified by...

THE ADOPTING GRACE OF GOD PART 2

Image
Gal 3:21-29; 4:1-11 God’s adopting grace is a beautiful truth and expression of His love that He displays to each and every one of us who are children of God…..the sons and daughters of God.  What we have seen over the past few months is…. We are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. We are justified, we are right (standings) before God the Judge. We adopted into His grace by His love alone. Again as a reminder!  God sent His Son so that we might receive the position of sons/daughters. Adoption required someone who comes at the right time. Adoption requires someone who possesses the right qualifications. Adoption requires someone who has the right resolution. By doing this God sent His Spirit so that we might experience the wonderful privileges as sons and daughters. This means….. We live with NEW identities before a holy God. We know get to taste and enjoy intimacy with God. We are assured and guarant...

Luke 24:1-7 Let’s go in time and put ourselves in the shoes of these heartbroken people who watched the stone roll over the opening of the tomb.  Can you imagine what it must have felt like to watch the one you loved die after everything He did on this earth (The miracles, the teachings, the outpouring of love for lost and broken sinners).  Can you imagine what it must of felt like for Mary (the chosen sinner) to see her son and Lord Hang their on that cross.  Can you imagine how Peter felt seeing His Lord from a distance especially after the last words he spoke in front of His Lord was “I do not know the MAN”.  Can you imagine what it felt like for John to see His Lord breath His last breath and the last words Jesus says to Him is “Behold your mother” “When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved (John) standing by, He said to His mother, "Woman, behold your son!" Then He said to the disciple, "Behold your mother!" And...
