THE PERSONHOOD OF JESUS CHRIST 12 BIBLICAL TRUTHS ABOUT JESUS IN HIS INCARNATE STATE (HUMAN FORM)       1. HIS BIRTH (Luke 2:11) “for there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord”       2. HE WAS FLESH AND BLOOD (John 1:14) “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us...”       3. HE WEPT (Luke 19:41) “ now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it”. (John 11:35) “Jesus wept”       4. HE NEEDED REST (Matt 8:24) “ and suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep”       5. HE ENDURED SHAMEFUL THINGS (Matt 26:67) “then they spat in His face and beat Him; and struck Him with the palms of their hands ”       6. SIGHT REQUIRES CHRIST

John 14:7-11 I don’t know about you, but I  find it’s absolutely amazing sometimes that we can be so familiar with something or someone and yet somehow be ignorant or insensitive to things and people around us. It seems so contradictory to know, and yet not to know, at the same time. How often have we heard the statement, “I thought I knew everything there was to know about that person? But I've discovered I really didn't know them at all.”  That statement simply reveals that it is possible to know a person, and yet not really notice all of the complex qualities of their personality; just as so many people do when you think of Jesus Christ. Maybe you struggle with who Jesus is?  Maybe, you've said this statement “I thought I knew everything there was to know about that person? But I’ve discovered I really didn’t know them at all.”  Maybe you felt that way? I thought I knew him, but I really didn’t. Maybe we’re not so...

THERE IS NO OTHER DOOR

John 10:1-21 The Lord Jesus has been given many names, He is called…….. The Amen [Rev 3:14] The Alpha & Omega [Rev 22:13] The Advocate [1 John 2:1] The Author of Salvation [Heb 2:10] The Bread of Life [John 6:35] The Cornerstone [Eph 2:20] The Great High Priest [Heb 4:14] The Lamb of God [John 1:29] The Son of David [Matt 12:23] The Son of God [Luke 1:35] The Son of Man [John 5:27] The word of Life [1 John 1:1] The Resurrection and the Life [John 11:25] The Son of the Blessed One [Mark 14:61] But none quit describe the term of endearment that Jesus has towards sinners like the name that He has been given “Great Shepherd”  See! A shepherd is someone who guards, guides, protects, tends and generally cares for the well-being of what they are overseeing. The Old Testament predicted this truth about Jesus, “I will establish one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them—My servant David. He shall feed them and be their shepherd.” Eze 34:23. I...

MY LAMB SACRIFICE

Image
John 1:29-34 In one sentence we have the essence of the Christian message …… “Behold the Lamb of God”  What do you think of when you here that statement in the scriptures? I think of pain and suffering I think of sin I think of the gospel I think of what an amazing Saviour I think of grace I think of the joy it brings I think of the humility of Jesus I’m reminded of that hymn……. “There is a fountain filled with blood, Drawn from Immanuel’s veins And sinner plunged beneath that flood Lose all there guilty stains” Isa 53:6-7 “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth.” As Kent Hughes said “Christianity is a bloody religion” But through that blood there is grace,...
