CREATED FOR COMPANIONSHIP

Image
Eccl 4:7-12 The more your read the bible the more you begin to see an underlining theme with God’s children.  We are designed for family, fellowship and friendship. This goes with everything you read in the scriptures when you read about the one another’s. Family and friends play a pivotal role in our lives whether you believe it or not. The bible speaks about how we are to pick our friends. In  Proverbs 12:26 we read “One who is righteous is a guide to his neighbor, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.” Proverbs 13:20 “Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” Proverbs 14:6-7 “A scoffer seeks wisdom in vain, but knowledge is easy for a man of understanding. Leave the presence of a fool, for there you do not meet words of knowledge.” Proverbs 22:24-25 “Make no friendship with a man given to anger, nor go with a wrathful man, lest you learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare.” 1 Cori...

HEARTBROKEN

Image
Luke 19:41-44 What are some of the things that break the heart of God?  Death and sorrow breaks the heart of God. Sheep without a shepherd break the heart of God.  Broken marriages break the heart of God. Delinquent and self-absorbed parenting breaks the heart of God. Disobedient children break the heart of God. Unbelief and rejection breaks God's heart. My sin, your sin, breaks the heart of God.  God’s heart was so broken over sin, we read “Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the LORD said, "I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them." Gen 6:5-7. The list is endless to what breaks the heart of God because He kno...

GOD IS BETTER ALWAYS

Image
Jeremiah 2 Our society is very anti-God and wants nothing to do with God and will try very hard to win your heart…..or better yet steal it from you. This is a message to the believer who struggles in their Christian life, trying to find a balance between these two worlds. See, it doesn’t happen overnight it’s that subtle deception like an “I V drip”.  As one writer said “There is really no such thing as a sudden fall. Oh! the last step is only the last of a series of steps. I believe there are always many steps before a child of God reaches the verge of the precipice. I believe, further, that even when the edge of the precipice is reached, very few jump over. Most of them slide down, slowly at first, and it is so easy, so gentle, so effortless, so natural, so pleasant, that, alas! They seem to enjoy the sensation. It is only when the pace begins to accelerate terribly, it is only when control is slipping away, that this pleasant enjoyment gives way to anxiety and alarm...

WHY DO YOU HATE ME SO

Image
John 10:30-42 What makes a person hate someone so much that they want to take their life? Take for example:  More Christians have been martyred in the 20th century than in all previous centuries combined. About 170,000 Christians are martyred for their faith each year (over 400 per day). Currently over 200 million Christians are being persecuted worldwide. Christians are persecuted in 131 of the world's 193 countries. North Korea: in 2014 it continues to be the worst country in the world for persecution and the list goes on! As one person said “Hate is like acid. It can damage the vessel in which it is stored as well as destroy the object on which it is poured.” What makes a person so angry that it fills their heart with murder? Especially towards someone who’s desire to see…. People have clean water Cloths on their backs The ability to think and read The shelter of a home The care and well-being of others The care and concern for ...

THE BEAUTIFUL SHEPHERD KNOWS MY NAME

Image
John 1-30 You may not realize it, but you’re mentioned in this chapter of John’s letter? Look back to (v 16) and read what it says  “And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.”   This is speaking of His redeemed church [you and me].  We are the “other sheep” who would taste the grace after the Good shepherd would lay His life down for the sin of the world.  I want you to really think about this passage of scripture for a moment!  Several times Jesus makes this statement “I know my sheep”  What is Jesus saying? What does He mean He knows His sheep  Before the foundations of the world my name, your name were written in His book of promises……Why? Because He knows His sheep “other sheep” you and me!  See, it’s not that He knows us like he is meeting us for the first time. He knew us before He created the cosmos and the planets....
