  John 6:28-40   Esquire magazine carried an article entitled "How to Live Forever." The article said that if all genes that affect the rate of aging are deactivated, if cancer and heart disease are conquered, if genes can be tricked into regenerating organ tissue, and if all causes of old age are eliminated, the average life span will increase to 1,200 years!  The fact is because of the Fall, our sin-filled and fallen bodies were never intended to last forever; and we were never intended to spend eternity on earth.  Jesus told us how we can live forever, but many are blinded to  the glory of God in His Son.  Paul wrote that the Christian is not to lose heart; despite the fact many are blind to see the glory of Christ in the gospel. “And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the

  John 6:22-27 What knowledge of man’s heart our Lord Jesus  Christ possesses.  We see in this portion of Scripture Jesus exposing the false motives of those who followed Him for the sake of the loaves and fishes.  It may not appear that way to you, and me, as they followed Him across the Lake of Galilee. (v66)  Jesus exposes the inward hearts because you cannot deceive the Lord. “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.” Gal 6:7.  He knows what our real character is , and He will judge us accordingly.  Just as Jesus exposes their heart here, you cannot fool the Lord with your misleading affections.
