This is what happened to my oldest daughter Rachel today, when she tried to flex her little muscles on her daddy (me) lolol. "Don't mess with the king of the hill my love or else". I love the winter weather

When Two become ONE

Image
Julie and I sat down tonight to watch Fireproof I only have one thing to say about the movie. It was absolutely brilliant . A wonderful story about a real marriage that effects many of us today or did effect us at some point in our marriages. I said to Julie when it over "this was us before I was saved". Isn't it amazing that we serve an awesome God who loves us so much that He came to this earth to die for His bride to please His Father. If that doesn't stun you, I don't know what will. We need to do the same in our marriages even when the road seems bumpy and helpless. Eph 5:25-31 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives, as their own bodies. He that loveth

Deadly Danger of Moralism

Which One are You?

Image
MODERNISM - The belief that we can understand everything in our world through our own senses and experiences. Anything that cannot be seen and experienced, such as spiritual truth, is viewed as relative (different for each person). POSTMODERNISM - The belief that truth is created rather than discovered. Any truth in science, education or religion, is created by the people in that particular culture for that specific time. Any statement that tries to communicate truth as objective is seen as trying to dominate that culture. NEW TOLERANCE - Every person’s beliefs and perception of what is truth are equal in value. There is no absolute truth which applies for everyone at all times. BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN - "... the Just shall walk by faith" Gal 3:11. "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses a

The New Tolerance

WRITTEN BY A 15 yr. old SCHOOL KID IN ARIZONA : Since the Pledge of Allegiance and The Lord's Prayer are not allowed in most public schools anymore Because the word 'God' is mentioned.... NEW School prayer : Now I sit me down in school Where praying is against the rule For this great nation under God Finds mention of Him very odd. If Scripture now the class recites, It violates the Bill of Rights. And anytime my head I bow Becomes a Federal matter now. Our hair can be purple, orange or green, That's no offense; it's a freedom scene. The law is specific, the law is precise. Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice. For praying in a public hall Might offend someone with no faith at all. In silence alone we must meditate, God's name is prohibited by the state. We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks, And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks. They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible. To quote the Good Book makes me liable. How to Find True Joy

Image
6 main ingredients to having spiritual joy 1. Joy is a gift from God (Ps 16:11) You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. 2. God grants Joy to those who believe the Gospel (John 15:11) These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. 3. Joy is produced by God the Holy Spirit (Rom 14:17) For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 4. Joy is experienced most fully as believers receive and obey God's Word (Jer 15:16) Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by Your name, O LORD, God of hosts. 5. Joy is deepened through trials (1 Thess 1:6) And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit, 6. Believer's joy is made complete whe

Holy Affections John 4:27-42 Can I make an observation this morning? You can agree or disagree with me if you like, but I really want you to listen to what I have observed about my own life. Do you realize before I was saved the only person I loved the most. Answer: Was Myself . Do you realize that before salvation came to us, we always for the most part conducted ourselves by: 1. Fulfilling the desire and the lusts of our flesh. For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death. (Rom 7:5). 2. Saying that our own ways are right. Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts. (Prov 21:1). 3. Seeking to justify oneself. And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts..... (Luke 16:15) 4. Saying I am pure in my own eyes. There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes, Yet is not washed from its filthiness. (Prov 30:12

What a Year of Reflection for Me

Image
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. James 1:2-4 What does it really mean to be patient? Are we really patient, when we are waiting on the Lord to answer our prayers? James says “let patience have its perfect work” What does he mean? Don’t resist or go ahead of the Lord submit to Him, and allow Him to strengthen you to spiritual maturity stop going ahead of a your Savior. James says patience or as the Greek word meaning “endurance or perseverance” drives us to a deeper communion with the Lord Jesus Christ. So the big question for me this year has to be; have I allowed the Lord to have His perfect work in me? Has my maturity grown with the time of waiting? As I look back and reflect on a year gone by I see friends getting into full time ministry. I see our house finally selling, I see a church close its do
