My Little Sinner

Image
I came across this when I was researching for my sermon this weekend. Who says we are without original sin! You need to give your head a shake and think AGAIN! Maybe this will help convince you! Try this test this on your toddler at home! I have proof that toddlers have orginial sin. LOOK OVER TO THE LEFT HAND SIDE. This is my little sinner of 23 months and I love him dearly, but he failed the test! And so did I when I was his age! Why? Because "in sin my mother conceived me" Ps 51:6I Thank you Lord Jesus for saving me from myself. Thank you Lord Jesus for saving me from my sin. Thank you Lord Jesus, thank you! Evidences of Original Sin 1. If I like it, it’s mine. 2. If it’s in my hand, it’s mine. 3. If I can take it from you, it’s mine. 4. If I had it a little while ago, it’s mine. 5. If it’s mine, it must never appear to be yours in any way. 6. If I’m doing or building something, all the pieces are mine. 7. If it looks just like mine, it’s mine. 8. If I saw it first,

Transforation of the Heart

Image
There's much to be said in the Bible about the heart. Prov 4:23 says "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life". When a person becomes a Christian, he or she is given a new heart. This brings a new nature that is pleasing to God, because without that new heart we are seen by God as filthy rags. Why must a person receive a new heart? Because scripture says in (Jer 17:9) "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?". This would be the center of what the heart is and what it's capable of; it is wicked to the core. The heart of man, like marble, is stone-cold and as we see in the next verse, the Lord knows this. "I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings". The Lord is called the Knower of the heart. To Him alone can this verse be applied; it is from Him alone that we can have the ability to und

The Importance of Worship to the Christian

Image
What does the word worship mean? · Excellence of character and dignity · Worthiness. · A title of honor, used in addresses to certain magistrates and other of respectable character. · Chiefly and eminently, the act of paying divine honor · Exercises adoration, confession, prayer, thanksgiving. The Greek word for worship is proskuneo (Pros- koo - neh -o) to prostrate oneself (reverence and adoration). It also means to fawn or crouch. The Bible says “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship (to prostrate oneself, reverence and adoration) Him must worship in spirit and truth." John 4:20-24 Who does our worship belong too? The world says: We are the world We are the life We are to be worshipped We are all gods

Names of God's Children

Image
If you are a child of the living God, you are no longer called a sinner; "For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls" 1Peter 2:25. We are still a sinners but God looks at us not as sinners, but as His precious children. Why? Because of what Jesus did on the Cross for you and me, sinners saved by sovereign grace. Jesus, is the Overseer and Lover of our souls, as the Good Shepherd. Jesus said in John's Gospel "I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep." John 10:14-15. The Bible has many names for God's children, sinners who are saved by His wondrous grace and mercy. You are the: Beloved of God (Rom 1:7) Beloved Brethren (James 2:5) Children of God (John 1:12) Sons of the Living God (Rom 9:26) Sons of the Most High (Luke 6:35) Children of the Promise (Rom 9:8) Dear Children ( Eph 5:1

LORD, Teach Me How to Pray

Image
There are few subjects in the Christian life more puzzling to more of God’s people than prayer. Many Christians today are often confused by prayer and usually ask: 1. What is Prayer? 2. Does prayer change things or does prayer merely change the one who is praying? 3. How should we pray? 4. What should we pray for? 5. Can we be sure that God always hears prayer? 6. Can we be confident that He will answer our prayers? A. Prayer is to express our submission to the Sovereignty of God and our trust in His faithfulness. B. Prayer is a means by which we express all that is in our hearts to our loving and wise Father. C. Prayer is not to give God information because God knows everything. D. Prayer brings us into reverent communion with God, worshipping Him and acknowledging Him as the Giver of all things. E. Prayer is our way to Communicate, humble ourselves by acknowledging that without Him we can do nothing . Prayer is also a command to Christian’s " Be careful for nothing; but in every

Church, Walk Worthy of One Another

Do we as Christians think that God owes us anything? Do we think that He is our get out of jail card and we can continue to live our old selfish lives in the presence of His holiness? See when a person follows the Lord Jesus they are making a statement "I no longer live, but Christ lives in me". It means that I'm never coming back because He owns me, He is the master and Lord of my life. So I ask the question: What does it mean to walk, or live the Christian life? Does it mean! 1. A happier life 2. More money 3. More success 4. More friends 5. More prestige 6. A greater fulfillment of self 7. Better marriage 8. Better children 9. Better health 10. Better home and personal possessions If you answered Yes to all those things, then you really don’t understand what it is to live and walk the Christian life. Well! What’s the answer then? What is it to walk the Christian life? There is one thing we need to understand, before we can walk worthy as a Christian, we need to underst
