1 Thess 3:9-13 Prayer, what is it? And what is good for?  Before we try and answer those questions, let’s look at what the bible says about prayer.  First, it’s a command from God….. “Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.” Isaiah 55:6.  Second, it is to be offered by us to a holy God…… “Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray.” Psalm 5:2.  Third, we have the privilege to pray only through the saving grace of Christ…… “For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.” Eph 2:18.  Fourth, it is to be done through the Spirit…… “But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.” Jude 20-21.  Fifth, it’s lifting up one soul to God…….. “Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven.” Lam 3:41.  Sixth, it’s to be offered with sincere

WHY NOT ME LORD?

1 Thess 3:1-10 Have you ever pondered the question! Why me? Have you ever asked yourself! Why me LORD?  Why do You allow so much pain and suffering to happen to your children around the world? Why do You allow me to go through fruitlessness from time to time? Why do You put me through such pain and anguish with the people whom I’m supposed to love and share the truth with? Why do You harden the hearts of so many people, especially those whom are the closet to me?  Isaiah penned this “….And He said, "Go, and say to this people: "'Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.' Isa 6:8-10.  Why Lord! Why? To be honest, there is no easy answer to that question!  Except answering it this way! Why not me ? Paul knew that tria

It’s not a very comfortable place to be to say the least!  But there is a reason why we are there in this dark lonely cell.  THE COURTS THE LEGAL SYSTEM OF THE DAY FINDS THIS MAN GUILTY OF :  Murder, a Theft, for being an Anti- Roman revolutionary, a rebellious person who is against the government. The sentence or final judgement for this man is  DEATH!  The form  of punishment is  an old rugged cross.  See! A person is nailed to this piece of wood through his hands on each side.....then they nail your feet together so that your posture is hunched over position!  Which makes it
