The Purpose for Christmas


What is the Perfect Gift for this Christmas Season? The Answer is simple the Lord Jesus Christ. Think about why we celebrate Christmas. Jesus said (John 3:16-18) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Jesus also said (John 14:6) “... I'AM the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” His love for mankind is so great, He said (John 15:13) Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. When you celebrate Christmas in a couple of weeks understand one thing. The person JESUS CHRIST came in the fullness of time to lay down His life for sinful man! You, Me the Whole World this is what He was born to do!
His little body would one day, be mocked and beaten
His precious little head would one day, wear a crown of thorns upon it
His little soft hands would one day, be pierced for our transgression
His little feet unable to walk would one day, be pierced for our iniquity
His little side would one day, be opened to cleans us from all our unrighteousness
I like what Oswald Chambers said "Jesus Christ became Incarnate for one purpose, to make a way back to God that man might stand before Him as He was created to do, the friend and lover of God Himself".
He came so that we can have eternal life. Paul wrote (Gal 4:4-6) But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!" John MacArthur says “If we could condense all the truths of Christmas into only three words, these would be the words: "God with us."
So my question for us this Christmas:
Is He your gift this Christmas Season? Your greatest treasure above all things.
Is He the reason you celebrate this time of year? Forgiven for your sins by His shedding blood.
He loves you and He desires that all (salvation is for the worst of sinners to the kindest of sinners) come to Him in repentance and to follow Him by faith as LORD. agian listen to Paul But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom 5:8). This is the reason He came in the first place to die for our sins so that we could be reconciled to the Father through His Son Jesus Christ. So whats more important to you this Christmas Season? Is it presents, turkey dinner, friends, family, staff parties? These are all wonderful things but we must not be clouded by those things this Christmas season, because this is how the world views Christmas. Oh excuse me "the holiday season". If you love the things that the world displays as "Happy Holidays" then you are blinded to the true meaning of Christmas, which is SALVATION through His Son Jesus Christ. Listen to what Paul said “Behold,(pay attention) now (not tomorrow or next week) is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation”. Today is the day, this very minute, this very second Christ Jesus is waits for you to come to Him in repentance (a turning away from) and to follow Him only by faith.
This Child was God (John 5:18; Phil 2:611)
This Child was born of a virgin (Matt 1:26-35)
This Child came to die (Matt 27:50)
This Child conquered the grave (Matt 28:5-8)
This Child is the only way to Heaven (1 Peter 1:3-5; John 14:6)
This Child is seated at the right hand of the Father (Heb 1:3-4)
This is what Christmas is all about. This is what the Perfect Gift is this Christmas season! It is so perfect Jesus said “Its Finished” So whats under your tree this Christmas?

TRUE JOY IS ONLY FOUND IN CHRIST

INTRODUCTION How relevant is this letter to the Philippian Church? THE HEART OF GOD REVEALED

Luke 19:41-44 What are some of the things that break the heart of God? Death, senseless killing and the sorrow it brings breaks the heart of God. A Church without a shepherd breaks the heart of God. False teaching and compromise breaks the heart of God. Broken marriages/ families break the heart of God. Delinquent and self-absorbed parenting breaks the heart of God. Disobedient children break the heart of God. Unbelief and rejection breaks God's heart. My sin, your sin, breaks the heart of God.
