  John 7:14-24   Jesus’ testifying words shocked the community of the religious world when He claimed He was, and is, equal with God.   For the Jewish nation this was blasphemy; this was a serious crime in the law God gave to Moses.  The Israelites were to worship and obey God, anything outside of this was the sentence of death, to be stoned to death found in Lev 24:10-16.  It’s the Feast of Booths and once again Jesus is faced with their hatred and claims that is blaspheming God.  No man’s credentials were ever more severely challenged by the established academic community than Jesus of Nazareth.   Jesus claimed……   He claimed He came down from Heaven. John 3:13 He claimed He was sent into the world by the Father. Mark 9:37 He claimed He was the Saviour of the those who are His. John 3:17 He claimed He is the Determiner of people’s eternal destinies. Matt 16:27 He claimed He is the only way to God, the only way to eter...

  John 7:1-13 As we approach this chapter, and into the next, we see that the Jewish leaders, and the crowd’s hatred, has been smoldering in Judea.  We know that they wanted to kill Jesus, especially after Him healing a lame man on the Sabbath, “Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “See, you are well! Sin no more, that nothing worse may happen to you.” The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had healed him. And this was why the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because he was doing these things on the Sabbath. But Jesus answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I am working.” Jesus Is Equal with God.
