Psalm 80 There is something about a face to face conversation with people that I thoroughly enjoy rather than a telephone conversation. there is just something about interacting with another person and looking them in the face, is much more refreshing than holding an electronic devise in my hand or at my ear; but I also realize that’s not possible at times due to cost and location! I've had many good conversations with my friends online and on the phone! I guess we can thank the good people of Skype and Mark Zuckerberg for giving us avenues to have face to face conversations via internet. But we have something that Skype and Mark Zuckerberg don’t have and that is the greatest Facebook access to Heaven! The word of God  and the Holy Spirit and when we are in the word of God we have access to more than just falling deeper in love with Him but an avenue into His presence through prayer. Throughout the scriptures we see many desiring an inti...

John 6:60-71 There is a word that describes an action that every parent, husband or wife would hate to hear or see! A word called “abandon” By definition this word means “to leave completely and finally; forsake utterly; desert: to abandon a child; to abandon a sinking ship.  To give up; discontinue; withdraw from: to abandon a project; to abandon hope. We are about to see this word in action as the crowd begins to walk away because what Jesus said was too hard for them to understand or to demanding and not what they expected. Again they had misplaced affections that blinded them to the truth and to whom Jesus truly was and why he came in the first place. This is a sad part of the conversation that Jesus had with the multitudes! Why? John 6:41-59 The biggest problem with man [meaning mankind] is that they cannot get pass the idea that they need saving. Blinded by their own ignorance to the fact they are dead! Not literally but spiritually. The Bible teaches that man, since the fall, in his natural corrupt state, has lost all ability of the will to do any spiritual good accompanying salvation and is not able, by his own strength, to convert himself. Hence the fact, people don’t think they need saving because they already think they’re? John 6:28-38 Esquire magazine carried an article entitled "How to Live Forever." The article said that if all genes that affect the rate of aging are deactivated, if cancer and heart disease are conquered, if genes can be tricked into regenerating organ tissue, and if all causes of old age are eliminated, the median life span will increase to 1,200 years! The fact is that our sinful or fallen bodies were never intended to last forever; and we were never intended to spend eternity on earth.  Jesus told us how we can live forever. We come to an amazing passage that tells us about who God is and what God came to do; but we also see a problem with this passage ! Man’s stubbornness and disbelief that leads to misplaced affections. Human misunderstanding, thinking I need to work towards, instead of receiving the gift with thanks-giving. We get front row seats here this morning as we’re about to see this unfold as Jesus confronts the multitudes wit...

John 6:22-27 The Bible says that multitudes followed Jesus. People followed Jesus for different reasons. The same is true today! We need to ask ourselves the question : Why are we following Jesus?  This is a question that you need to be able to explain…….young and old!  So why are you following Jesus.  Don’t settle for a relationship with Jesus that is based on what he can do for you. Remember God will not be fooled or mocked by His creation; God knows those whose motives are wrong and this should cause us to ponder God and His truth this morning. There are good intentional people in the church who are doing the same thing as it was here in John’s gospel who treating the God who gives them breath like a….. John 6:15-21 There is a story of a dad, who dropping off his daughter a little late to her third-and-fourth grade Sunday School class one morning, walked in just in time to hear one of the nine-year-old students pray, “Dear God, bless our mothers and our fathers, and our sisters and our brothers. And bless the teachers, and the preachers, and the firemen and the rodeo clowns. Oh, and by the way, God, take care of Yourself too. Because if anything happens to You, we’re all sunk! Seriously.
